Kiddopotamus & Co. Organic Cotton SwaddleMe - Ivory Kiddopotamus & Co. Organic Cotton SwaddleMe - Ivory

My son is 4 months old and this morning when I went to his room because he was quietly crying, I realized that the 'arms' were cinched around his neck. The velcro hadn't stayed in the middle section and after getting his arms out through the middle portion, the 'arms' were up around his neck. I truly believe that the only reason he's okay, is because he's a little chubby and his chin was in the way. Truly terrifying and the swaddle is now in the garbage.

Swaddling vs. Not Swaddling We didn't swaddle our baby for the first week or so, mostly because we couldn't figure it out. It is *not* hard to figure out mind you, but we were slightly overwhelmed and seriously sleep deprived parents. During that week, baby would wake up soon after falling asleep over and over. Once we took five seconds to figure out how to get him into a nice snug swaddle, we experienced our first five hour stretch of sleep (breastfed baby)! Since then, we've tried to put him down without the swaddler, but flailing arms soon wake him up. Organic Cotton vs. Non-Organic Cotton vs. Bamboo The non-organic ones have shrunk and toughened. The bamboo is very soft and lightweight, but baby is able to get out of it fairly easily. The organics are my favorite by far because they have kept their shape, size, and softness after daily washings (warm water). Bonus is that they also have cute little bear velcro closures whereas the others do not and organic farming is good for the environment. I recommend getting a few because if baby spits up on it, it is good to have a dry spare ready to go in the middle of the night. Our baby sleeps with a diaper and this swaddler. (Summer)

My son slept through the night since 4 weeks, he was sleeping 8-10 hours without a peep by 6 weeks and I attribute it to theses swaddling blankets. Babies quickly grow out of receiving blankets but these velcro blankets are great. Although, they make me feel like I'm putting him in a "straight jacket" he slept so much sounder and longer and I think that is great for mother and baby.

Once we found this product, we were hooked. Warm, comfortable, easy to use, and it gives peace of mind, too! Our son is now three months old, and we still wrap him in this every night. It keeps him from starting himself awake, knocking the pacifier out of his mouth, and seems to make him feel secure. My ONLY complaint (and it's a small one) is that it seems to shrink slightly in the dryer, and so it has to air dry, but if you buy a couple, it's not particularly inconvenient to wait for one to dry while using another. I won't even register for blankets for the next baby - this is all we need!

I purchased one of these for my daughter when she was born. This is so easy to use and so soft and comfortable. My daughter started moving her hands or feet when she slept and kept waking herself up. So, i decided to use this on her, not only for her comfort but so she wouldnt wake herself up. It worked. I live in Arizona so the material is not so thick to where she'd be too hot. Plus when she was in it, she was easier to pick up and hold.

I did not want to shell out hard earned dollars for the blankets which the baby would outgrow in a few months anyways. These were perfect for my summer baby. Not very warm - perfect thickness and size. For the price I paid these were one of the best things I bought for my baby.

Cute patterns and decent quality for the price. Material is not super-heavy (is thin flannel cotton) but would be OK for late spring/summer/ early fall. These blankets are square (so are not good choice if you want to use to swaddle your baby, a rectangle shape is a better choice).

these blankets are soft, big and very good quality. Pretty soft pink. we love them.

I thought these blankets were just fine. I did not have a problem with shrinkage after washing them. If you want basic receiving blankets, these are for you. I think they are softer than the other receiving blankets I bought at the store. They are PERFECT for a day when its not too hot or not too cool.

I bought these to use as swaddling blankets and after I washed them once they were too small to swaddle a newborn for more than a week or two. We use them now as extras for the car. I cut the rest up to use as cloth diaper wipes. They work better as cloth wipes than they do as blankets. So much of our Gerber stuff shrunk after one wash that I haven't bought any more Gerber blankets, onesies, etc.

I bought these for use as burp cloths with my first three children, the last in 2007. They were fantastic. After the boys outgrew the need for burp cloths, they still liked to sleep with them, they were so soft. I recently bought another package in anticipation of our 4th baby, and I could not be more disappointed. They are 2/3 the size of the originals. The edges are serged - and not very carefully - instead of finished. The fabric is rough, even after washing. I have searched for a better alternative with no luck. I don't know what caused Gerber to alter the quality of their product, but I am one very disappointed customer. I will not be recommending them to anyone.

I ordered these to use as cleaning cloths, for drying wine glasses and for dusting. After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned as it seemed that some were not happy with the quality. All I can say is that I found these diapers to be extremely soft and washed well. As for whether or not these make good diapers, I haven't put them to that use so I can't comment, but for cleaning, I give these 5 stars!

These Gerber cloth diapers have a million and one uses. From actual diapers to burp cloths to changing pads, to just super absorbent rags, these diapers will be used again and a again. And because they are well made, they can be bleached and reused time and again, saving money and landfill space.

I bought these with the sole intent of using them as burp cloths, since many other reviews have suggested this use. When I opened the package I was shocked at how thin the material is. I can actually see clearly through them! They also don't retain their shape at all after one washing. I wasn't upset at first because I knew I was not planning on using them as diapers. However, I folded the "diaper" in half to use as a burp cloth and the spit up leaked right through! Are you kidding me? I am irritated enough to have wasted money on not-so-great burp cloths... but I think it is terrible that Gerber uses the word diaper on the label. There is NO WAY these could be used as a diaper! The material is like cheesecloth!

We registered to have these for burp cloths. My 9 mo old loves these! He carries his around with him as a security blanket as it is light weight and fun to chew on! Also great to wipe off a drooly chin or a messy face at dinner. These are a must have.

This is a great value pack and so soft and thick in the center panel which also makes them great burp cloths instead of using more expensive and also narrower and thinner cloths actually marketed for the burp cloths.

These are not like the diapers I used back when my child was an infant. They are thin, non-absorbent, and are useful only as diaper liners. (But why soil two diapers if one good one would suffice?) Instead, buy Chinese prefolds.

My mom used Gerber cloth diapers on me and my 3 siblings when we were growing up and I believe the quality of the ones made back then must have been better than what I've got today. I bought a pack of 12 and 2 of them ripped at the seams during their first wash. They don't seem to be very absorbent at all - they wick through my son's diaper covers and clothes. They do make good burp rags, though. I bought some of the chinese prefolds and I'm hoping to have better luck with them.

Pros: more absorbent than burp cloths low price Cons: shrink in washer, but if you're using them for burp cloths, it doesn't matter

These are really big for my newborn (7lbs 1 oz and birth). I feel like they spread her legs really far apart. I decided to order some smaller ones (different brand). I will definitely use these when she gets older. They are easy to fold and use just a little to big for my little girl.

One always needs a few of these for burp cloths as well as to put under babie's head when sleeping for the drool...these are great and I think I'll be ordering more for my daughter..the new mother :)

Pros: Easy To Clean, Durable, Easy To Use, Compact, Safe For Baby Best Uses: Infants Describe Yourself: First Time Parent, Parent of Multiples (Twins etc) Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I read all the comments about these diapers, and I am amazed at how many people have complaints about their quality as a diaper. I have triplets, and my husband and I are using these for our diapering. The Chinese and Indian prefolds are significantly more costly and with the amount of diapers we need for triplets it would be overwhelming to consider buying them; however, that being said, we used a diaper service for the first three months of our babies being home from the hospital. Of course they provided DSQ (diaper service "quality") Chinese prefolds. Immediately after we switched over to these my husband asked what I thought. We both agreed that while these become soaked SO DID THE CHINESE PREFOLDS! I don't know whose babies do not soak any cloth diapers, but our babies go through both types of cloth diapers with every feeding. Maybe some people are not wanting to change as frequently as cloth diapers require, but coupled with plastic/vinyl overpants these work great for us. We change our babies every three to four hours, and we have no leaking and no diaper rash issues. At night we use a home-made insert as a doubler, and my understanding is that any cloth diapers require this at night. My babies make it through the entire night without leaking and no diaper changes until morning. As one other person mentioned, I did pre-wash these diapers the typical recommended five to ten washes to prepare them for use. I also launder them on two cycles every two days, and I don't have any of the pilling or rough problems others have described. As an economical choice I think these diapers are functional as diapers, and as far as I can see they are not less useful that the DSQ diapers we used. We will continue to use these and purchase more as they wear, but for half the price or less than Chinese or Indian prefolds these are perfect for our triplet household. :) My husband and I were both cloth diaper babies, and I KNOW my mother did not buy Chinese or Indian prefolds to use. I was in this type of diaper until I potty-trained super early, and I never had diaper rash so I feel positive about this product.

These Gerber Diapers usually make great burp rags (and are not at all good as cloth diapers). This package, however was very scratchy. I purchased some a week later at Target which were very soft and what I expected from the product. I wouldn't purchase this item through Amazon again because of the quality.

I got 2 packs of these for my shower and am back to buy more so I can cut down on laundry! They are wonderful for burp cloths and wiping up the drool that seems to be constantly dripping from my daughter's mouth! I can't review as diapers since I don't use them for that, but I don't know that too many people buy these for actual diapers these days since cloth diapers have advanced over the years.

these are very thin and scratchy , i just use them as burp clothes but even for that they still soak through , i wouldn't buy them again.
