The First Years Hands Free GateReviewsThis is my second gate I've purchased, it's fantastic. The foot operation is a life saver to be able to egress thru it without having to juggle what you are holding. This is also a great baby gate for keeping animals out of areas of your house. Nice and sturdy! Easy to install and use. It has hands-free opening so its good when you have your hands full like I always do. This gate wont budge when it is installed so it is very safe. It looks nicer then some of the other gates on the market. I have purchased several typical kids gates, but this one is great. It's so nice to have the hands free gate. My friend bought two. I have had this gate up since before we had our toddler, to contain our dogs. It is still in excellent shape and won't budge from the doorway. I just wish they made an extra-long version of this, and I would use it in every room we need a gate. I am a breeder and have raised pups for many years. I required a sturdy chew proof gate that is easy to open and close while holding onto squirmy pups. This gate is the solution. It is without a doubt the best "dog/child" gate I have every purchased. As the advertisement suggests, I can easily open and close this gate without using my hands. For small puppy breeds you'll have to place a tight mesh on the lower part of the gate. I accomplished this by fastening the mesh on with cable ties and it has worked perfectly. I recommend this superior gate to anyone. You won't be disappointed! Average Rating:![]() |

Because of its simple "knee-knocker" mechanism, this Hands Free Gate can do exactly what the name implies: be opened without having to use your hands. Any parent occupied with little ones and all of their necessities will quickly recognize this as a huge benefit... |

Sealy Stain Protection Crib Mattress PadReviewsWe were very excited to get this mattress pad, and in the process of putting it on, it tore. Very poorly made. We will be returning it for a refund. I bought this product in a set of 3 items. My son is 6 months old and so I don't need it at the moment because of the type of mattress that came with the set but it will come in handy when he's older :) very nice and very cheap and shipped fast!!! What's not to like? It fits a standard mattress and it keeps the mattress dry! I would buy more. So disappointing! The first time I put it on the mattress (a normal crib mattress), it ripped! What a rip off!! I have two of these, one for each child. When I just started looking for crib pads, I didn't understand why I even need one - the mattress has a plastic cover on it as it is, so the mattress will never be ruined. So, I use the pad not to protect the mattress, but to make it a little softer - I didn't want my babies to lay on the plastic mattress cover with just a sheet over it. I wanted them to be comfortable and cozy, and this mattress pad did the job! I also wash it every time the baby soils the sheets - after all, the pad absorbs everything thrown on it, and would you want to sleep on something like that? I would highly recommend this product if you want to make your baby more comfortable in the crib. Average Rating:![]() |

Prince lionheart hammockReviewsordered the hammock for my sister's baby shower. hammock never arrived, storage store doesn't answer my multiple emails, very strange. they didn't charge me, but for a business to not respond to 5 emails from someone who placed an order is very odd and obviously unprofessional. i wouldn't do business with this ghost company again. Very pleased with product, exactly as described. Does stretch out to a wider length after it's initial installation and needs to be redone, but that was okay with us. We are pleased with product, no problems, no issues, everything fine! Delivery very quick. This hammock is superior to other hammocks I have used. It is absolutely huge, and we are using it to hold stuffed animals in a bedroom. We currently have ours packed with more than 25 regular (Build-A-Bear)sized stuffed animals, and it will hold more. Make sure when you are hanging it that you put the hooks up high enough on the wall (an inch or so from the ceiling), because it will hang much lower depending on the number of animals you put in it. The picture that the seller uses shows the hammock being used for bath toys, but it really is too big, in my opinion, to be used for that purpose. The photo also shows suction cups, which are not included with this product. I was very dissapointed when I received this product. It is NOT what is pictured on the site. Only the sides of the hammock are stretchy NOT the mesh itself. The holes in the hammock are only about a centimeter in diameter the picture shows them much larger. This will not hold many stuffed animals. OH NO!!! This toy net is not stretchy and is about the size of an unfolded adult diaper! It's not like the ones kids had in the 70's. This might fit 4 big toys. DARN! This is NOT going to help at all. How disappointing! Average Rating:![]() |

Baby Einstein - Baby Van Gogh - World of ColorsReviewsMy six month old grandson loves this video. The music makes him laugh and colors really attract his attention. We are purchasing more of these. Also, we purchased these DVD's for our other grandson and he had the same reaction. When I read negative comments about Baby Einstein videos and how they don't make a child "smarter," I have to laugh. My daughter knew all her colors when she was 16 months old. Yes, she could say them and identify them. That was due ENTIRELY to this video. We didn't think she was old enough to know her colors yet, so we hadn't started teaching them to her. Then, one day, she just starts pointing to objects and saying, "blue" and "red," etc. My child has watched this video dozens of times in the last 9 months or so and never tires of it. She especially likes the character of Vincent, and likes the books with him in them as well. Not only has she learned her colors, she has recognized Van Gogh artwork when we've seen it out in the "real" world. She points at it and starts babbling excitedly. How anyone can criticize this series is beyond me. My favorite of the Baby Einstein collection. Couples colors with words, music and poetry. I anticipate it will be one my son enjoys for some time to come. We have a very active 6 month old who constantlty needs stimulation...The Baby Einstein dvd keeps him happy and quiet for a least an hour. He loves it! Please be aware that the fact is The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under two be kept away from screen media. These products are claiming benefits that are utterly unfounded. Baby Einstein - Baby MacDonald - A Day on the FarmReviewsI bought the DVD Baby MacDonald a Life on the Farm because I knew my 15 month old grandson loved watching the Baby Einstein segments on uTube. He is now almost 18 months old and is still mesmerized by the whole DVD- especially the part where the pigs splash down the slide into the mud! Baby Einstein DVD's are fabulous- I would recommend them for children of all ages because of the beautiful photography, music arrangements and soothing voice of the narrator! ***** 5 stars at our house! My child loves Baby Einestein's DVDs. One of her favorites is actually (A day on the farm). She likes to sing with the singers and enjoys seeing the animals. Good DVD, which has been modified from its previous version. My 7 month old son loves this video. He does not really like too many movies, but this is the one that holds his attention. He loves the animal sounds and its a movie that we can all enjoy. I bought it for my 12 month old nephew and he also likes it. Definitely a great purchase! I read mixed reviews on this one but my grandson is mesmerized. He's 9 months old now but a few weeks ago I put this on for him and he didn't seem too interested. But now that he's a few weeks older, he loves it. I put him in the excersaucer and put this on and he watches while I put on my makeup and fix my hair. Then I'm ready to start the day with him!!!! He especially loves the animal puppets! The combination of puppets, real life characters and animation seems to fascinate the under two group. I can't tell you how many times we have watched this and sung Old MacDonald had a Farm.... This is a 30 minute DVD with some extras. The kids love it. After you've seen it a dozen times it does seem to get longer and longer! It is a good compliment to the Baby Einstein books. The video is kind of like reading a moving board book so the kids are familiar with how Baby Einstein is set up and what to expect. Average Rating:![]() |

Brainy Baby : ABC's : Introducing the Alphabet (Ages 2 to 5 Years)ReviewsThe title should read "ABCs" and not "ABC's". Plural does not require an apostrophe. Considering the fact that this is supposed to be an educational video, they should be more aware of such things and not make stupid mistakes in the title. My baby is only 17months and can count her numbers with out any mistake.... 1-10... i was shocked when i heared her and the attention she pays to the video is amazing. The Brainy Baby ABCs video is absolutely the BEST! I would give ALL Brainy Baby DVDs 5 stars. These videos really work, I don't care what anyone says and I've got the proof in my own children. Don't believe all the reports that "DVDs are bad" for your kids. There is GOOD stuff out there and Brainy Baby is definitely one of them. I am very concerned about some of these negative reviews. Please, already... are you kidding? I have not found ANY problems or mispronunciations in the ABCs video or any other video. Also, concerning the one reviewer that said she personally didn't like the video or that it didn't have high production value... It's not about you. It's about your child. If your child learns from these DVDs, then who cares if YOU like it or not? A two or three year old is also not impressed with high production value (special effects, talent, etc). That's what I love about Brainy Baby; they have a pure, simple approach to learning that really engages my children. That is why I get the learning results. For those people who would continue to be negative, please do not assume that your comments are correct and pass them off to consumers as the truth. You are only confusing parents and short-changing children from a huge benefit. Brainy Baby products are fantastic and a real life saver. Unless you plan on producing the "perfect" DVD, please don't spread untruths, just because a certain product doesn't line up with your preference. We should all be supporting companies like this that are doing a good thing for our kids... unless we all want to see LESS products available in the near future! My 22 mo son loves this DVD; he is really not interested in TV at all but will sit & watch this in entirety. Priced much better than popular competitor's "educational" DVDs and my son enjoys it more. He loves seeing other children in the show and hearing children's voices. Quite boring for Mom & Dad; let's face it, we know the alphabet so its no suspense movie. But son loves it and is learning alphabet, letter recognition, and names of various objects - so it's worth a little parental boredom. Parents please be aware that many studies show that the more television children under five watch the less likely they are to engage in creative play. (DVDS being basically the same thing). Dimitri Christakis the director of the Child Health Institute at the University of Washington quoted in the book Parenting Inc, states: "Based on the research I have done there is reason to believe these products (DVDs for babies and toddlers) have a deleterious (negative) effect on the developing mind" , "TV, DVDS and video games condition the developing brain to expect a very high, unnatural level of input. Real life by comparison becomes boring". Another quote, again from Parenting Inc." "There is no research to show that watching a screen is beneficial to a baby in any way, educational or otherwise. If anything it may be putting babies at risk" "A two dimensional screen can never replace a real environment, rich in all five senses. Holistic play is what develops the all the pathways to the brain." Alvin Poussaint, child psychiatrist and director of the Media Center of Judge Baker's Children Center in Boston. Please be aware that the fact is The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under two be kept away from screen media. These products are claiming benefits that are utterly unfounded. Please think twice about buying DVDS for a baby or toddler. Do the research, it's not a good idea. Stick to the old fashioned toys that engage kids in creative play - blocks, balls etc. Average Rating:![]() |

Baby Einstein - Baby Neptune - Discovering Water [VHS]ReviewsFIRST OF ALL I WOULD LIKE TO SAY I ORDERED THIS DVD BACK IN NOVEMBER OF '09 AND I BARLEY RECIEVED IT THE LAST WEEK OF JANUARY '10!!!!! THAN SECOND OF ALL ITS NOT EVEN THE RIGHT DVD I ORDERED!!!!! I ASKED FOR BABY EINSTIEN LULLABY TIME AND I GOT THIS LANGUAGE NURSERY ONE!!!REALLY??? SOUNDS LIKE TO ME, THEY JUST GAVE ME WHAT EVER THEY HAD AND TOOK THEIR PRECIOUS TIME!!!! ANYONE ELSE LOOKING INTO BUYING FROM THEM......DONT!!!!!! not too happy with this one, it's hard enough trying to teach them one language, but to try and introduce it to an 11 month old, he won't sit down for this one either, so most definetly wait till the kid is older maybe my Dvd was messed up but the only english I heard was one old mcdonald farm song and hello! I even went to the part where theres a list of all the languages i selected english then would hit play I would here hello then the rest of the video was in another language. Everything else was in a different language. While I do understand why people think it looked homemade I guess it was trying to capture the babies view of the world. i like the sounds and graphics just more english. I do want to expose my 4 month old son to other languages but english is going to be his first language and this video could have had more but its good for him to just watch for now. It doesn't matter what dvd you purchase from the baby einstein series. Our son has loved them since he was at least 3 months old. Keeps him entertained, quiet and happy for lond periods of time. A great buy! This is NOT the best Baby Einstein Video of the many that are on the market and I would suggest you buy all of the others before this one. [Particularly good are the early B.E.'s.] Our principal reason to dislike this video is the lack of music which leaves it 'dry' and plainly dull: the readers are not particularly inspired and read in a monotone. Then there are the other odd things that others have commented on, like counting to 20 when the clock only goes to 12. That confused by son who is 2.5 years old and who still loves the Baby Einstein franchise. And I would have thought it would have been more productive to read commonly known nursery rhymes, in tempo, in the various languages... rather than reading heaven's knows what. Save this one for last. Pam T~ mom and reviewer for BooksForKids-reviews Average Rating:![]() |

Chicken Fat-Youth Fitness Video [VHS]ReviewsFlorida legislators believed Florida's schoolchildren were too inactive so they changed P.E. requirements for the state's students, requiring classroom teachers provide the remainder of 170 minutes from the P.E. staff. (They do 80 minutes.) As a second grade teacher, I drew on my background from the 1960's and JFK's desire to get the kids in shape and immediately thought of Meredith Wilson's "Chicken Fat". MY STUDENTS LOVE IT!!! My children love this video. It is an excellent workout for both kids and adults. The kids learned about this at school and begged me to buy it for home. It was a great investment. I find this a great way to motivate my kids to learn about health and fitness and exercise. I just let them do the exercise routine at their own pace and they really love it. I really love this video. It really has it all; a great song to sing along to,great exercises and is so much fun. My kids get home from school and can't wait to watch and exercise to Chicken Fat. It's great to see them have so much fun. I am so glad I found this video. When I was a kid growing up in Ohio in the 1960's we used to listen to the 45 record of Chicken Fat in Gym class all the time and we all loved it. It was really because of Chicken Fat that I became interested in fitness. Today I own a gym for both children and adults and have begun to use Chicken Fat for my Kid class's and they love it. The Mom's and Dad's join in also so it's a lot of fun. I highly recommend this video to all. Average Rating:![]() |

Princess & Pearls Self-Stick Wall AppliquesReviewsThese are very easy to use and look great. My almost 3 year old loves her "new princess room." Very affordable and easy way to make a quick change that your little one will love. I purchased this princess set to go with the castle mural. They are just as pictured and easy to apply. My little princess is very happy with her kingdom. WE LOVE THESE THINGS! My girls wanted pretty rooms so we invested in 4 packs of these for two rooms and now they have gray walls but they don't mind it and love the princess on their walls. They are great and I have had the older ones and the new ones and these. Con's is you need to be careful when peeling them off the contact paper, and if you remove them be sure to re put on contact paper or they will stick together. Also be sure to clean the wall's first with a damp cloth and let dry then apply. Average Rating:![]() |
