The First Years Hands Free Gate The First Years Hands Free Gate

Reviews

This gate is exactly what I was looking for. Super easy to assemble. Very sturdy. Looks good. Affordable. Quick delivery. Absolutely perfect!

Not a lot to say... gate is sturdy, no problems with installation, impossible for a child to open. Thumbs up!

We got this to gate our hallway so our 23 month old twins will stop getting into drawers and wrecking things. Not their safety so much as my sanity. We have an old house with the cut glass doorknobs and the door knob thingies are hit or miss on them. So this gate seemed like the perfect idea. It's sturdy and attractive, easy enough to open even if your arms are full of toys, laundry, children... but not so easy my girls were able to figure it out (again, we only had it 9 days though!). It's pressure mounted but it held up quite well to my girls shaking it in protest. The problem is with our baseboards... and I think most people have baseboards like this so it seems like a huge design flaw. We have really wide 6" baseboards (not common) but at the bottom of that is a bit of round molding, maybe an inch, inch and a half high - and this is where the problem came in - and don't most houses have this?? What happened is the little pressure-mounted pads to hold the gate in place had to sit above these moldings, leaving a gap beneath the gate. My husband slid a block of wood beneath this gap (actually one our window props, gotta love old houses!) which seemed to fill the gap nicely... until today... when I went to open the gate, the wood went flying out, the gate slid down, the pressure pad stayed in place... so the bolt that adjusts the pad bent, and now the whole top of the gate seems cockeyed. Not sure yet if I can fix it - I can't figure out exactly where the issue is. This gate seemed like a good idea... but you need to find a way to fill in the gap underneath, or else it will creep down over time as you push the pedal, and the whole thing will pop out like mine did. I'm giving it 3 stars because I think it will work awesome if you don't have those moldings, and if you can think of a good way to fill the gap if you do (I'm thinking maybe zip-tying the wood to the base?) - it will work great But it seems like something they should have thought of when they made the gate. edited - we got the gate working again, with a block of wood beneath it. I noticed in someone's "add your own picture" picture they mentioned cutting the molding to make the gate fit. You should not have to cut your wood work!!! Isn't the whole point of a pressure mounted gate so you don't have to alter anything? Make sure you fill in the gap underneath! Girls still haven't figured out how to open it and boy are they mad.

This is my second gate I've purchased, it's fantastic. The foot operation is a life saver to be able to egress thru it without having to juggle what you are holding. This is also a great baby gate for keeping animals out of areas of your house.

Nice and sturdy! Easy to install and use. It has hands-free opening so its good when you have your hands full like I always do. This gate wont budge when it is installed so it is very safe. It looks nicer then some of the other gates on the market.

Sealy Stain Protection Crib Mattress Pad Sealy Stain Protection Crib Mattress Pad

Reviews

We were very excited to get this mattress pad, and in the process of putting it on, it tore. Very poorly made. We will be returning it for a refund.

I bought this product in a set of 3 items. My son is 6 months old and so I don't need it at the moment because of the type of mattress that came with the set but it will come in handy when he's older :) very nice and very cheap and shipped fast!!!

What's not to like? It fits a standard mattress and it keeps the mattress dry! I would buy more.

So disappointing! The first time I put it on the mattress (a normal crib mattress), it ripped! What a rip off!!

I have two of these, one for each child. When I just started looking for crib pads, I didn't understand why I even need one - the mattress has a plastic cover on it as it is, so the mattress will never be ruined. So, I use the pad not to protect the mattress, but to make it a little softer - I didn't want my babies to lay on the plastic mattress cover with just a sheet over it. I wanted them to be comfortable and cozy, and this mattress pad did the job! I also wash it every time the baby soils the sheets - after all, the pad absorbs everything thrown on it, and would you want to sleep on something like that? I would highly recommend this product if you want to make your baby more comfortable in the crib.

KidCo Bath Storage Basket KidCo Bath Storage Basket

Reviews

We love this! So much easier to organize toys and letters, etc. and keep them in one place, in the bath, where they can drain and not sit and mold. When our 10-year-old daughter needs to shower, she just sets the basket on the bathmat outside the tub and then replaces it when done. We have been very happy with this, especially considering how inexpensive it is.

This Product is cool. When it arrives you can put it right in the bath tub. I have a 4 year old, and we put all her bath toys in this and she can play in the tub and easily get to all her bath toys. It never falls in the tub when she uses it. And it is easy to remove when us adults need to shower or bath. This is perfect for kids. I highly recomend it to anyone with kids and bath storage needs.

I love this container for my sons bath toys. Its great so all the water gets drained from all the toys - no more mildew growing in the buckets.

Fits tub great with room to spare. Holds toys, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. A great space saver, and no more putting away the toys after every bath. Just love it.

I recently ordered this for our tub. My daughter's bathroom is also the guest bathroom so when people come to stay with us, we have to dig all the tub toys out. We originally had the Boon Frog toy thing that sticks to the way. It was horrible and didn't work at all. I was skeptical of ordering something after that experience. This organizer is perfect. It keeps all the toys out of the tub. It has removable dividers which are perfect for organizing bath toys. I noticed some people mentioned that you can't use it in the shower if you share the same bathroom. I disagree. We just push it all the way to the back and then the shower curtain will close easily. I am very pleased.

Baby Einstein - Baby Van Gogh - World of Colors Baby Einstein - Baby Van Gogh - World of Colors

Reviews

After reading the reviews on Amazon I decided to purchase this video for my 15 month old son. We recently purchased a vehicle with a DVD player and let me say this video is a life saver. Imagine driving in the car every day with a child that screams his head off. Not for any reason, but he hates to be strapped down. This video actually holds his attention, which is minimal to say the least, and a happy baby equals a happy mother.

My six month old grandson loves this video. The music makes him laugh and colors really attract his attention. We are purchasing more of these. Also, we purchased these DVD's for our other grandson and he had the same reaction.

When I read negative comments about Baby Einstein videos and how they don't make a child "smarter," I have to laugh. My daughter knew all her colors when she was 16 months old. Yes, she could say them and identify them. That was due ENTIRELY to this video. We didn't think she was old enough to know her colors yet, so we hadn't started teaching them to her. Then, one day, she just starts pointing to objects and saying, "blue" and "red," etc. My child has watched this video dozens of times in the last 9 months or so and never tires of it. She especially likes the character of Vincent, and likes the books with him in them as well. Not only has she learned her colors, she has recognized Van Gogh artwork when we've seen it out in the "real" world. She points at it and starts babbling excitedly. How anyone can criticize this series is beyond me.

My favorite of the Baby Einstein collection. Couples colors with words, music and poetry. I anticipate it will be one my son enjoys for some time to come.

We have a very active 6 month old who constantlty needs stimulation...The Baby Einstein dvd keeps him happy and quiet for a least an hour. He loves it!

Baby Einstein - Baby MacDonald - A Day on the Farm Baby Einstein - Baby MacDonald - A Day on the Farm

Reviews

I bought the DVD Baby MacDonald a Life on the Farm because I knew my 15 month old grandson loved watching the Baby Einstein segments on uTube. He is now almost 18 months old and is still mesmerized by the whole DVD- especially the part where the pigs splash down the slide into the mud! Baby Einstein DVD's are fabulous- I would recommend them for children of all ages because of the beautiful photography, music arrangements and soothing voice of the narrator! ***** 5 stars at our house!

My child loves Baby Einestein's DVDs. One of her favorites is actually (A day on the farm). She likes to sing with the singers and enjoys seeing the animals. Good DVD, which has been modified from its previous version.

My 7 month old son loves this video. He does not really like too many movies, but this is the one that holds his attention. He loves the animal sounds and its a movie that we can all enjoy. I bought it for my 12 month old nephew and he also likes it. Definitely a great purchase!

I read mixed reviews on this one but my grandson is mesmerized. He's 9 months old now but a few weeks ago I put this on for him and he didn't seem too interested. But now that he's a few weeks older, he loves it. I put him in the excersaucer and put this on and he watches while I put on my makeup and fix my hair. Then I'm ready to start the day with him!!!! He especially loves the animal puppets!

The combination of puppets, real life characters and animation seems to fascinate the under two group. I can't tell you how many times we have watched this and sung Old MacDonald had a Farm.... This is a 30 minute DVD with some extras. The kids love it. After you've seen it a dozen times it does seem to get longer and longer! It is a good compliment to the Baby Einstein books. The video is kind of like reading a moving board book so the kids are familiar with how Baby Einstein is set up and what to expect.

Baby Einstein - Numbers Nursery Baby Einstein - Numbers Nursery

Reviews

My son loves them and they are educational. I like the fact that he gets to learn and I get a little break.

I like this one and most of the others, since I've popped in the first dvd, my son is trying to talk more and doing more too, he loves learning, totally awesome

We bought this for our 18 month old, and it was a great introduction for learning numbers. One of the things I like about it, is the puppets count objects, so there is a meaning to each number, not just a sequence. Between this and the number puzzles we use, our daughter, now 25 months has a good understanding of numbers, their order, and what they mean. She also loves the puppets, and the different scenes keep her engaged in learning.

My 18 month old loves "NUMBERS NURSERY". After watching it two times, he was reciting 1-5, and within a week he has learned 1-10. I don't know if it was the video or his age, but I was amazed at the results. It keeps him entertained, as does all the Einstein videos!

Teaching babies the numbers 1-5 is great and all, but I am beyond perplexed why in the world Baby Einstein stopped at the number 5. Do they really think that babies can't learn more than that? Good grief! They are just getting started there! This DVD is very entertaining. Indeed,it is mostly entertainment as the numbers one through five will be mastered in very short order there by making it pure entertainment. Save your money and buy Richard Scary's Best Counting Video Ever. It is just as entertaining (if not more so) and goes to number 20, with lots of cute dialogue that babies love. Similarly, check out Leap Frog Letter Factory (for letters) and Trebellina (for music). You won't be disappointed.

FIRST OF ALL I WOULD LIKE TO SAY I ORDERED THIS DVD BACK IN NOVEMBER OF '09 AND I BARLEY RECIEVED IT THE LAST WEEK OF JANUARY '10!!!!! THAN SECOND OF ALL ITS NOT EVEN THE RIGHT DVD I ORDERED!!!!! I ASKED FOR BABY EINSTIEN LULLABY TIME AND I GOT THIS LANGUAGE NURSERY ONE!!!REALLY??? SOUNDS LIKE TO ME, THEY JUST GAVE ME WHAT EVER THEY HAD AND TOOK THEIR PRECIOUS TIME!!!! ANYONE ELSE LOOKING INTO BUYING FROM THEM......DONT!!!!!!

not too happy with this one, it's hard enough trying to teach them one language, but to try and introduce it to an 11 month old, he won't sit down for this one either, so most definetly wait till the kid is older

maybe my Dvd was messed up but the only english I heard was one old mcdonald farm song and hello! I even went to the part where theres a list of all the languages i selected english then would hit play I would here hello then the rest of the video was in another language. Everything else was in a different language. While I do understand why people think it looked homemade I guess it was trying to capture the babies view of the world. i like the sounds and graphics just more english. I do want to expose my 4 month old son to other languages but english is going to be his first language and this video could have had more but its good for him to just watch for now.

It doesn't matter what dvd you purchase from the baby einstein series. Our son has loved them since he was at least 3 months old. Keeps him entertained, quiet and happy for lond periods of time. A great buy!

This is NOT the best Baby Einstein Video of the many that are on the market and I would suggest you buy all of the others before this one. [Particularly good are the early B.E.'s.] Our principal reason to dislike this video is the lack of music which leaves it 'dry' and plainly dull: the readers are not particularly inspired and read in a monotone. Then there are the other odd things that others have commented on, like counting to 20 when the clock only goes to 12. That confused by son who is 2.5 years old and who still loves the Baby Einstein franchise. And I would have thought it would have been more productive to read commonly known nursery rhymes, in tempo, in the various languages... rather than reading heaven's knows what. Save this one for last. Pam T~ mom and reviewer for BooksForKids-reviews

Baby Bach VHS Baby Bach VHS

Reviews

I bought this for my new granddaughter and she just stares and smiles. The color and movement are great.

I haven't seen "Baby Mozart" and decided to preview this one before giving it to my granddaughter. If this one deserves the criticism of some other reviewers, the Mozart video must indeed be terrific. The arresting images made me think I was watching in HD/Blue Ray yet, despite the visual enhancement, they're all familiar objects, toys, and child faces that should grab the little spectator's attention. The music, too, is "enhanced," and therein lies a potential problem. Why must all of Bach's music--piano, organ, orchestral, choral--be played on a soft and echoey synthesizer? It's all quite enchanting, but how often is Bach, of all composers, ever described as "enchanting"? I like the repeated use of Minuet in G, since that's the piece kids taking Suzuki or conventional lessons are likely to play after Twinkle Little Star. But if Bruce Springsteen's "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" is considered suitable for innocent young ears, Bach deserves to have producers less bent on covering up his authentic authoritative voice.

My baby loves Baby Beethoven, so we tried Baby Bach for a little variety. Her verdict was... BORING. She won't watch Bach, while she remains riveted to Beethoven. I don't think they did testing to see what would interest babies on this product. I still am a strong proponent of Baby Einstein DVDs, but some are much better than others. Pass on this one.

This dvd is pretty good. It's not as good as the Baby Mozart, but it's not bad either. My son will watch it, but I have to keep directing his attention back to it at times. The music is not as peppy as the Baby Mozart, but Baby Bach is still musical in nature-making it better than all of the other Baby Einstein dvd's we have with the exception of Baby Mozart.

This is a wonderful gift for a new baby -- the music lulls them to sleep, and by the time they reach the ripe old age of 3 months, they will be watching the TV as the shapes go with the music! I wish these had been around when my kids were babies!

These are very easy to use and look great. My almost 3 year old loves her "new princess room." Very affordable and easy way to make a quick change that your little one will love.

I purchased this princess set to go with the castle mural. They are just as pictured and easy to apply. My little princess is very happy with her kingdom.

WE LOVE THESE THINGS! My girls wanted pretty rooms so we invested in 4 packs of these for two rooms and now they have gray walls but they don't mind it and love the princess on their walls. They are great and I have had the older ones and the new ones and these. Con's is you need to be careful when peeling them off the contact paper, and if you remove them be sure to re put on contact paper or they will stick together. Also be sure to clean the wall's first with a damp cloth and let dry then apply.
